I have served as Director of Technology for Albion Public Schools since July 1997. Prior to this I was a first year teacher at Constantine with a bachelors degree in Math and Computer Science Education. Since then I have acquired my Master of Education Degree in Educational Administration and enjoy a variety of responsibilities in my current position. Throughout my career, I have enhanced my abilities to lead in an educational setting. I enjoy serving a broader community through my involvement and leadership with the MAEDS organization since 2001. I served as the Conference Chair in 2004 and as President in 2005. I find my attention to detail and efficiency has helped MAEDS continue to grow over the last few years.

Greetings MAEDS members. I’m asking for your vote to retain my seat on the MAEDS Board of Directors. I’ve been serving on the board for several years now and I can honestly say it’s been one of the most rewarding things I’ve done in my professional life. I hope you’ll find I’ve had a positive influence on the board and on the direction of the organization as a whole. In my years of service I’ve focused on two main goals: innovating to keep our association relevant and at the same time working hard to keep the traditions that have made MAEDS and our annual events such important parts of all of our collective experiences. My projects have ranged from the all-business idea of linking the Upper and Lower peninsulas via data and video for our spring PD Days to the all-silly Nerdy T-Shirt Contest we featured at this fall’s conference. I would appreciate your consideration in the upcoming election.

I have served as CTE Technology Technician for the Montcalm Area Career Center since January 2002. My previous positions have seen me as a Network Engineer with a small ISP, a Computer Technician for the Montcalm Community College, and I worked with computers in the United States Army. I have been working with computers professionally for the last 13 years and as a hobby for the last 21. I have an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice and am working toward my Bachelors degree in Information and Computer Security from Davenport.
I have been serving on the MAEDS board since 2007. In 2009 I chaired the Web and PD Day committees. I have presented at each MAEDS fall conference since 2006, presenting on topics like “Open Source Alternatives”, “Group Policy tips and tricks”, “Gooooogle, taming the beast to meet your district’s needs”, and a few others. I even won the Euchre tournament one year! I would like another chance to serve on the MAEDS board and help to bring our membership the best possible trainings and events.

I am the Technology Director for Portland Public Schools since 2000 and have been involved with educational technology since 1993 starting at East Lansing Public Schools as a pc and network technician. From 1995 – 1999, I worked as a project manager for a K-12 educational technology consulting firm. I worked on bond projects for the School Districts of Utica, Chelsea, Ypsilanti, and Southfield and the GenNET distance learning project in Genesee County. I am a Michigan State Grad (BA and MA: Psychology – I know, long story). In 2003, I attained a MAEd in Curriculum and Instruction. I am the prior chair of the MSBO Professional Development Subcommittee and a member of the MSBO Technology Subcommittee.
I can only find MAEDs conference CDs in my office back to 2004 but I think I have attended since 2001. I am running for the board for two reasons: first, I have gained a great deal from this conference, whether from the timely and informative sessions or from networking with colleagues. I believe each year I come back from the conference with an idea or a product that has saved my District the cost of the conference or more and made me more effective. Second, having gotten so much from MAEDs, I would like to give back. Thank you for your consideration.

I am employed as the Director of Technology for the Northville Public Schools and have served in this capacity since 2001. My previous employment and experience in the educational technology field includes employment as Director of Technology for the Hamtramck Public Schools from January 1995-November 2001. I have earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wayne State University with a major in Information Management Systems and a Master's of Education Degree from Wayne State University with a focus on K-12 Technology Integration. It has been my honor and pleasure to serve on the MAEDS Board of Directors from 1992-2000 and 2004-2009. During my tenure with the MAEDS Board of Directors, I was Conference Chairperson for the 1998 Conference, President of MAEDS in 1999 and editor of MAEDS DataViews from 1992-1999. It has been a great experience to be a part of the growth of our organization throughout the years. The conference and professional development days provide outstanding opportunities to network with peers. I would appreciate the opportunity to continue my work on the MAEDS Board of Directors - Networking People and Technology!
